One of my longtime favorite shows from my youth...but Mr. Straight Arrow here wishes he didn't know some of the background!

Lidsville was my favorite, mostly because Charles Nelson Reilly got to ham it up to an extreme level, as WhoDo, the evil magician.

it's funny to think in 1976 there was once a Kroft amusement park in Atlanta Georgia,it was the worlds first indoor amusement park and the first that required the use of recreational drugs to be enjoyed to the fullest!:D

The Kroft brothers were big shots back in the '70's,one brother (Marty) married Christa Speck a playboy playmate.

Well the Silvertone peacock sign ended today for only $20.50!
Did anyone her get it?

It would be great to see it restored and lit up again.

I'm actually surprised it didn't bring more than it did.

Let's just hope it arrives at its new home in one piece.

That would be my concern as well.
I had asked if it was glass or plastic and never received a reply.

i thought there was something odd about that.
got an email from a friend who may have won it.not sure if he did.anyway the question was how it would have been used.of course with a light source and a clock motor and color wheel.
instantly recognisable yet different.

it used a wheel.
you can see where it rubbed at one time.

It sure would be interesting to see it.

I wonder if the animation unit was disk shaped like a color wheel or if it was a cylinder sheet type, the disk would make more sense, but the sign itself is square not round.

I'd love to have one of them!

I bet even this front glass is going to go for a fair amount.

GeorgeJetson 01-30-2011 10:53 AM

Yes,I noticed that too.
It wouldn't be to hard to rig something up.
Still I wonder why the back with the mechanism was taken apart and lost over the years, maybe the animation unit quit.

I was surprised it only sold for $20.50
