I've done the same thing before, I've also had to source fibre washers for antique fan repair from the hardware store before (oddly enough the only hardware store that carried them was a local family owned hardware store that has been around for over 100 years in a small town about 10 miles or so to the east of me called Middlebury, Indiana.)

Where would be a good place to try and find a service manual for this VCR?

Same thing I would have to do... Google (or Duck Duck Go) search. If I could see an exploded view and parts list I could probably recall what parts were commonly replaced. Then everything has to be reassembled and aligned exactly right by the book with the little marks on the gears lined up. One tooth off and it won't work properly. Don't know what else to tell you.

I looked it up, and I did find someone that had a physical copy of the service manual for this VCR but it was already sold (it was an old Amazon listing).

I'm looking at the Sam's Website and they had the manual for my Panasonic PV-1730 VCR but when I looked up the Fisher VCR they didn't have the service data for that VCR. What would of been the Sanyo Model Equivalent to this VCR?

Keep in mind there will be separate manuals, one for the mechanism, and one for the schematics, tape path alignment, cabinet and other parts. They decided to save money I guess and have one mechanism manual that covered all the models that used that chassis.

I just checked on feebay and they had nothing, they had a manual for the FVH-6200 but nothing for the FVH-7600, unless those used the same mechanisms?

The Fisher VCR's were always a PITA. IDK what the difference was, but the Sanyo's weren't that bad and they were made by the same firm!
There's plenty of used VCR's around, avoid Fisher.:thumbsdn:

Well it was my aunt and uncle's VCR, they bought it brand new in the late 1980s, and they wanted me to see if I could fix it for them.
