I think the CTC-7 "Sanford" model is one of the most beautiful 50's era color sets. It's compact consolette style with the louvre grill work below the screen was a perfect size for the average home. I hope you have the legs or can, at least, find replacements to complete this set.

Thanks, Steve D. I do have it's legs, these pictures were taken right after I unloaded it from my pickup, before I cleaned it up, or did anything to it. The top of the set and really the whole thing, looked great after a good cleaning with Murphy's Oil Soap and warm water! The set came from it's original home, near a lake, but had been re-located to the walk-out basement, for years, after they got something newer for the Living Room. I got it basically working, then stopped, to wait for a CRT, before re-capping. About a year and a half later, I was able to do some "Horse Trading" and secure a good, original, used 21CYP22, I was glad, because I really didn't want to convert to 21FBP, in that set. So now, I have the CRT, I can soon begin the re-capping, then install and set up the replacement CRT. Hopefully, it will be one of this winter's "finished" projects, within the next few months!

That's good news re: the legs.
Look forward to your progress reports on the Sanford. I had a chance to obtain this model which belonged to my long time friend, TV historian and collector, Ed Reitan.
After his passing, I and several others were cleaning out his collection, much of which went to the ETF. His CTC-7 Sanford sat against the wall and was mine if I wanted it. I had absolutely no room for it. I can't recall where it wound up. Perhaps at the ETF auction. Attached is a photo I snapped of the set as we were trying to inventory all of Ed's TV related items.

I was the one who bought it at the convention. It's in Buffalo. Due to my wife losing her job at the time, I sold it for what I paid to my buddy Ed, a local collector (VK name roundscreen)...who has it completely restored and working well :)

Thanks for reminding me. My memory isn't what it used to be. In fact, I now recall removing the Sanford's legs and packing them in the shipping crate for transport to Ohio. Wishing you and certainly your wife all the best, during this difficult time, in the new year.

Here's my 1959 RCA CTC9 Kenbridge. It's still not restored yet but will be by this coming summer. I found a like new remote control for it recently.

Someone sent me a message asking what model my CTC-5 is, and now I can't find the message.

It's a 21CT7885, Westcott (Super chassis) with mahogany finish.

The failed 21AXP22 that was in it, which had gone to air and turned out to have a leak in an unknown location after Scotty regunned it, was a replacement installed in 1962 according to a sticker on the back of the receiver. The leak was later found to be at a ding in the faceplate weld, by use of the helium leak detector at the ETF meeting a few years ago. The tube, which had to be necked to use the leak detector and was donated by me as a guinea pig to test the technique, is still at ETF, with hopes it can someday be both regunned and sealed.

Walter really nice color on your 21CT55. Just wish you would take shots of the screen with the lights off or with light not shining on the screen. The glare ruins the contrast. Never the less, I can see you have great color rendition on your set.
