TVs in Pres Nixon's old Upper Saddle River NJ home

In today's Bergen Record paperm they showed the inside of Nixon's place in NJ. The house was sold to some Japanese guy years ago, but he never moved in. House sat neglected, and now is too far gone to repair.

I doubt Pres Nixon was into TV repair, but you wonder why the back is off the TV in the top picture. Also look at the security monitors below.

Those security camera monitors look more modern than Nixon's time. Rather like the 9" Panasonic B&W's that are used in some studios.

More modern than "Nixon's time?" Maybe not in the sense that Nixon's time ran out thirteen years ago; this was a house in Jersey, not the Oval Office.

Hard to believe it's been 13 years already!

Also, a President --even a former President-- would be entitled to some good security for life, which might well include periodic updating of security gear. An old television in a barn(?) is a different thing, as no one's security depends on it.

That TV with the back off looks like a mid 80's RCA.

Looks like an early to mid 80s Sony to me.Has the handles on the side and the heavy metal degaussing shield and I can see the red hv bleeder that all Sonys had in that time period.

The picture's caption read that Nixon and his wife had used the house in the mid-1980's, those monitors weren't common until the late 80's/early 90's. That's not to say that they weren't put there for Nixon, just that he probably wasn't there when they were installed.
