10FP4 , How rare is it ?

How hard is it to find a 10FP4 NOS , or used .
Mine it supposed to be good in the 10T4 General Electric . But I havent heard much about this CRT .
Also is it failure prone or is it reliable ?
The 10T4 is still rattling along in my direction ,
Canada Post speed . Day # 7 :boring:

It's just an Aluminized version of a 10BP4, it doesn't use an Ion trap and it'll have a brighter picture than the BP4.
The GE probably had a 10BP4 originally, I believe the FP4 was introduced later as an upgrade but I may be wrong about that.

It says it's a 10FP4 on the tube list , but perhaps it was a later set and they used the 10FP4 in favour of the BP4 .
I dont see any ion trap in the pictures of it , It should be here this week ,I'll know more then .
Whats in the 10T1 Locomotive ? Apperently , it's much the same .

My GE 810 originally had a 10FP4 but the neck was broke off when I got it. A 10BP4 will sub except it will require an ion trap. On most sets this is not a problem but on some of the GEs (including the 810) there is little room for the trap due to the placement of the electrolytics.

I have the 10T1, which I think was the lower end model. Its tube list says 10BP4. Someone in the past upgraded to the 10FP4. It has a great bright picture, with lots of contrast.

Was the original CRT a general electric tube , in a GE set , or was it a different brand ?

NOS 10FP4 is not easy to find. I was fortunate to get one about a year ago, and it cost a lot. Still in the original RCA carton. It was the only NOS one I have seen for sale on 4 or 5 years. I think I have seen a couple of used
10FP4 and they went for a big price too. Will display an excelent picture if you can get hold of one.

I guess im lucky mine didn't get busted during shipping .
It seems to be good , its not really bright , but this is before the recap .
And I can hear the horiziontal oscillator is running way off .
I was surprised that there was any raster .
