Sylvania Halo-light saved

Went to a local estate... (By local, I mean two blocks away!) and found this old Halo-light in the basement marked $100. On the first day, I figured that if anybody wanted it for $100, they are better than I.

In the last few hours of the last day, it was still there at 1/2 off, so I went for it. I really don't need/want the set, (I already have a blonde halo-light, and I usually don't go for sets with doors) but I didn't like the idea of it hitting the dumpster, or being gutted for the attractive cabinet.

Since it was pretty much a goner anyways, I fired it up in my garage. It came on for a few seconds and blew a LV rectifier (5U4). I pulled one from my tube box and tried again. This time it came one with a raster. After a few adjustments and letting it run for a while, it was making a pretty good picture. Also found out it has UHF!

The problem is, I don't really want/need this set! My basement is full! What to do? :sigh:

Here are a few pictures.

Good save Carmine ! I'd try to "big-deal" you out of it in a heartbeat, but gettin' it to Tennessee from Dee-troyt in anything approaching intact would be a miracle...

I liked the description on the Craigslist post better:

"my uncle gummy banged it against the staris when we wuz carrying it up to the firewood shed, but gramppy sez it would be easy for somebody to fix wit sum red-wine and hot-sauce."

:)

I can't use it. If I get any old TV going, it'll be that Sears Silvertone I found.
