Well guys here she is, my first porthole. This is the one that was on eb*y months ago. it's a Raytheon 12in floor model. model#c1102 chassis 12AX22. I couldnt beleive it when i saw it, and no bids. it was listed with a lower price the second time, and i grabbed it. The best $50.00 I ever spent, plus about another $25.00 in gas. The set was made in 1949, with sams showing 1950. To me this set uses a wierd tuner, the numbers are not in order, and there is a small lever that "shifts" the tuner. It uses a 12LP4 crt. the set doesnt look to bad, but the hv cage is missing and it looks like someone was inspecting in there. cant wait to get her going this winter. oh add just too make you say darnit, I also picked up another RCA 721 in fantastic condition, the woman told me I could hav it for $75.00 because it had a broken knob, the set looks great, and it has a very low serial # in the 7000s:D:D:D:D

I almost bid. You're an hour closer to the guy than I am, and my rusty old truck's been acting up. Still was probably a great catch. Hope you get 'er going!

Do you HAVE to rub it in like that, you Dawg ?!? (grin) Congrats on great scores !

Wow! A real "dream score" there. Congratulations. :thmbsp:

Sitting here in crowded, high-rise Hong Kong, I can only envy you guys who can find and keep TVs like that one. The odds of my EVER finding ONE of those here are probably like the odds of winning the lottery! :tears:

Very curious to know what the thinking behind that tuner was. A new one on me!
