I was wondering about that too.
I'd heard of the French Sonora TVs from tvhistory.tv. Maybe they expanded into the US?

I have one of these and the chassis is unique as I recall.
I had to replace the Flyback in mine and it wasn't an RCA, also the tuner is a continuous slug and coil type not a turret or wafer.

I've had a few of there radios over the years mostly from the late '40s and early '50s. The tv dates 1950

SR and TC on the label means made by Sentinel. Sentinel-made radios of the 50's have the same notation.

I have a Sonora wind up type record player/victrola from 1918.

Well, I ended up being the high bidder on this one. I'm a bit nervous about "Isoldit" though. They never answered a question I had before the end of the auction. I've also requested a new invoice since I want to pick the set up rather than having it shipped. I haven't received that yet either.

Maybe I'm being impatient, but most sellers on Ebay respond very quickly.

Later Sonora stuff I've seen would be a challenge to restore, as they were rather minimalist in circuit design--much like the infamous Muntz.

But that earlier set might have the full goods--including at least 3 pix IF stages....

Sonora was one brand IIRC that often made superhet table radios with no IF amplifier stage; the mixer stage outpoot transformered directly to the detector stage. This meant one less tube and socket--with assoc components, and one less IF can....but one more large resistor to take up the difference in the filament chain....I guess making a space heater was still cheaper than making a radio. Another corner-cutter company was DeWald...

Probably a pretty busy outfit , hope everything works out .
By the feedback they have "134" , picking the set up is a great idea , you never know how well it would be packed .....

I was able to get a corrected invoice reflecting that I will pick the set up. However, there is a $5.00 handling charge for picking it up. I'm not going to quibble with them over that, but it doesn't seem right. Some things are the cost of doing business.

Finding service information may be more difficult. I haven't found a Photofact for the 302. They only seem to cover the later models.

I could swear I had a schematic for mine but I can't seem to find one.

I had a problem with the new Flyback and posted the circuit here on AK, it may have been that I only had the diagram that came with the new Fly and not a whole schematic.

The Sams index calls for a 97A-13 which I believe is a one sheet schematic, not the usual folder, I'll look and see if I have it.

Seems to have DC Restoration and dig that crazy High Voltage section, don't see a 6AU5 horizontal output that often!

Thanks for the scan! The HV is odd! The audio section seems a bit underdone also.

Well, I'm glad that I picked it up. It would never have survived shipping. The CRT strap wasn't tight.

Someone wrote the tube types on the chassis in pencil. Guess they must have found it easier than using the location chart.

It doesn't use a patch cord. Instead there is a jumper on the back to interrupt the power when it's removed.

The CRT is a 12LP4A. It appears to have a single field ion trap on it. I thought these required a double field trap.

The CRT showed no emission even after letting it run at a higher heater voltage. So I attempted rejuvenation. This brought it up to where it may be usable.

The odd part is though that now when I test for emission it starts at 340 uA and then gradually drops to 250 uA over about a period of a minute.
