Picked up a CTC-4A

Went to an estate sale the other day and found an RCA CTC-4.
It's the "Director 21".
I've never had a color set this old, and have not attemted to power it up. I did take the back off, and noticed something has been burnt right in front of the yoke, unless it is a section of the yoke.
Otherwise, set is in good condition. There was a service tag inside and the address and name matched the original owners of the house. Set was plugged in, and still hooked up to an outside antenna when I got it.
The set was in the master bedroom.
In another bedroom was a CTC-28 set which I also got. Fired that one up, and it works.

Wow, great find!

Does it still have the metal 21AXP22 CRT?

Are you sure the "burnt spot" is not just the typical deterioriating (sp?) plastic that plagues many fifties sets? Doesn't hurt the actual yoke, mostly looks bad, can cause the coil to fall out of place.

Great find! I can sit here almost certain that nothing's burnt... The soybean plastic cover on the yoke turns into a gray, flaky material that looks & feels 100% like ashes.

Charles, that's exactely what it looks like, so hope all is well with that, altho I bet Moyers would have the yoke if needed.
I actually just sold the set to another AK'er, so I'm sure he'll keep everyone posted of the restoration process.
