crosley - 0C3Q chassi 95

Working on this set , complete recap , and resistors.
On tube 6SK7 i have a resistor getting hot going to 1st i.f. .
Was wondering is it suppose too get hot?
There is a schematic at http://www.nostalgiaair.org if will take a look for me. Sorry 03CQ CHASSI -95
The set is playing , but has distortion in speaker.
Know enough about these old sets to get me in trouble.
Thanks on any info.:scratch2:

Should of give resistor # 20 on the schematic.

That resistor feeds the screens on the RF, converter, and IF tubes. What voltage do you have on pin 6 of the 6SK7? It should be 80V. According to the voltage chart that resistor (4000 ohms) would be dropping 175V down to 80V which is a dissipation of about 2.25W. It would be best to have a 5W resistor there. It probably will get pretty warm.

Thanks for reply. will do some checking let you know , what i found out.:thmbsp:

Ok getting around 84 volts . Guess that will be ok? Resistor gets hot will get a 5 watt next time i order supplies.
