Westinghouse 506

I recently picked up a nice little restoration project for myself... A Canadian Westinghouse Model 506. I can't really find any information on the net about this radio, but it looks like the radio has come with everything I need to know. It seems to be a pretty standard 5-tube AC/DC table radio from the late 1940s.

Here it is on my bench with the chassis removed:

And here is all the useful information still attached to the radio:

I was speaking with my parents via Skype soon after I got this radio and when I showed it to my father, he got all excited, ran off and came back with a Westinghouse that he had recently finished restoring which is almost identical to mine . Upon further investigation, it looks like the Westinghouse he just restored is the upmarket version of mine. Furthermore, the Westinghouse that my father just restored came from the workshop of my late Grandfather, who used to collect and restore old radios. Some things run in the family, eh? :thmbsp:

That's a neat story. A lot of us try to find sets that mean something to us. About ten years ago I found on "that auction site" mint copies of the long-gone 1937 Emerson and the 1949 Silvertone that my parents had. After a cleaning and recap they are on a shelf in my computer room where I use them daily.
