Help with a part for CTC7

Hello. This is my first post to this forum, but I've been reading it for some time. I now have my own problem with my CTC-7. I lost color lock and was making adjustments with the chroma reference oscillator transformer (T704). Even though I was using a plastic tool, I managed to crack the core slugs. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement? I've found a 3.58mhz crystal already (hopefully the problem). Any help would be much appreciated and thanks.

unfortunately coil cores are not available as new products, you only hope is that someone has an extra chassis that they have been using for parts and may be willing to part with one.

Thanks Larry. I appreciate the quick reply.

For what it's worth, it shows a part number of 105215. I found a 105214 at Talon Electronics. I'm wondering if I can extract the core from that and perhaps use it. Any thoughts?

I've never seen Talon Electronics before...looks like they may have a lot of older product!

Another one to add to the list along with Moyers and Chester!

Great! I've never tried to replace a core before. It's great to have help from those who've tried it before. I'll get another core and try the replacement. Thanks very much for the help. I guess a replacement is not likely. Again, thanks.

Took me 2 weeks to get the chroma alignment satisfactory on my CTC-7, it's a major PITA. If you don't have the procedure on how to do it, the manual is a big help. Do not deviate from the steps it outlines!

I tried finding 105214 on Talon, with no luck - could you post a link to this part? Thinking I might need something similar one day.

Basically go to Talonix.com and type "105214" in the keyword box. I just did it a few minutes ago and it still worked. It should bring up a Workman brand coil. They list theirs as "T151 Chroma/Color Transformer". It's about $5.00, but who knows what kind of stock remains at any given time. Good luck buddy. I have a CTC-5 to restore after I get the "7" back up and may need some "102...." parts some day.

Oops, almost forgot, thanks miniman for the 800 series manual. That will be of tremendous help to me. Thanks again buddy.

Don't thank me, thank the ETF. :smoke:

So, doing the math (this is kinda like dog years), that means it will take me 2 years to get it right on my CTC-7.
