Panasonc RE-6278 AM/FM radio year manufactured?
Hello all!
Panasonc RE-6278 AM/FM radio year manufactured? anyone know? thanks. |
I don't see it in the Sams Photofact index, but similiar model numbers were around '69. If you opened it up, there is probably a date code on the larger electrolytic capacitors and maybe other places as well.

It's made in Korea. |
Does it use tubes or transistors? If it's a tube set, it would probably be from the early-to-mid '60's. If it is transistorized (which I'm sure it probably is), it will be from the late '60's (or later). Panasonic did market some tube sets; but, I've never seen a Korean tube set from anyone.
Since it is made in Korea, I suspect it's no older than the early '70's. Also, what does the "panasonic" badge look like? The older "PANASONIC" logo was used up until the early '70's. The current "Panasonic" logo started to appear in the early '70's and is still used. |

5 watts. There's the first clue that it's transistorized without looking inside.

Yeah, I'd say it's from the '73-'76 time period.
