This set was VERY well cared for, not your usual corner basement find. Powered it up on a variac, gets static audio and a full bright raster, but no sync. An excellent candidate for restoration, me thinks :) .

The original owner was just placed in an "assisted living facility", and the person I bought it from was a friend of one of her children. The chassis is still bright and shiny, and the set still has the back on, and everything is about as nice cosmetically as one can ask for, save the top of the grille cloth, but it's still better than most I've seen on this model set.

I've been watching for TVs on Craigs for quite a while, this is the first really nice one I've seen lately.

Good Job on a nice complete original! The standard 10BP4 CRT and standard parts make this an easy one to restore.

The appeal of 40's sets should be increasing.

I'll let you double your money -- I'll give you $50 for it :-)

Sweet. Those sets make a GREAT pic, stunning sharpness actually.

Lots of wax caps but a very rooming chassis. One thing you may want to do is make sure you buck the AC voltage down to less than 120vac. They operate just fine at 110 and the pic width is better (does not over scan so much) and the fly runs much cooler.

there is some asbestos lining that I suspect is fine, just be aware of it and try not to disturb it. Also there are some problematic WW resistors mounted on the back as a long multi affair. its somewhat fragile where the terminals stick thru the chassis for connections. I have had them open or short out against the chassis and again its got an asbestos strip insulating it so be aware if you need to mess with it.

the fact that it produces a raster may indicate that it lived in a very well conditioned enviroment that may have allowed the wax caps to stay somewhat ok. If you recap it (which you should of course) I would be interested in how the old caps check for leakage. I have found one out of dozens of sets that had good wax caps all the way thru it (an old AM radio). I suspect it came from a dry area. I still replace them but it was the 1st time I cam across a set where they all checked ok.

I have that model with the original stand. When restored, they perform very nicely.

It only cost you 25 clams?! Wow you got a good Deal!.....I paid for mine in Dollars though, only 46 of them. :D Gotta love east coast bartering.....They know that with the state of things these days the Dollar can become just a useless piece of paper, but clams OTOH will always have their nutritional value inflation be damned!

I've been looking for one of these for years. When I was a kid we had one of these that we'd bring out into the front yard on summer nights and stretch out in our sleeping bags and watch the late night movies on.
