This was a big part of my start in the hobby since we had a Victor Victrola VV-X something that was dated to 1917 and was till in great shape. I personally took apart the spring and greased it according to instructions at a Victrola forum. Steel needles and plenty of discs. Miss that thing. Camden NJ, "his Master's Voice"..have got a Blue Danube 78 on Victor with the b-side as the Victor Logo, it hangs on the wall of my Lp room.
Meanwhile the RCA Camden Lp label was often mediocre and marketed as a budget label in the 70s.
I however just recently opened up a sealed copy of Modern Romance's '85 effort, "Burn It!" and the RCA (later BMG) didn't sound too bad .except for most of the songs.lol.
Nice to also see that the Camden buildings used for their factories are NOT on the NPL/superfund lists. CPU makers were much cleaner(dirtier).
