Horizontal problem RCA 14S7072

Hi all!

Well, my first vintage TV project was going well until tonite when the horizontal decided to go haywire (loss of sync, audible squeal, blue glow in output tube.) It also looks like the flyback may have been running hot as there's a fresh drip in the HV box.

The set has been recapped and was working beautifully until it suddenly "freaked out". Other than a quick sub of the horizontal output tube (same symptoms), I haven't dug into it... Figured I'd tap into the wisdom of the group first.

So, any suggestions?

Thanks!

Finally got around to looking into this; what had happened was the dag on the CRT had started to deteriorate around the ground contact causing tiny arcs which were driving the horizontal crazy. Cleaned and recoated the tube with graphite and the set is happy again.
