Ldk5 lens on ebay
|
Just a tad optimistic with the price!!
|
that lense has been on there for perhaps a year or two...
it does not fit anything other than the older mounts and there is no guarantee it is not worn out or has fungus or other issues lenses of that age can have. At that price it will stay on there forever, no restorer of old cameras can afford to spend that much! I'm still waiting for the price of the much more recent canon j20x zoom lenses to come down in price to fit the BVP-370 ccd cameras, i have a number of these but no lenses to test if the image is any good out of them!, the price is coming down and sometimes are give away items.. but inevitably so many items are in the U.S and cost is prohibitive to send over to oz. |
This lens was very advanced for its time, as it had a small computer inside, but it could not stand the rigorous life of TV field. As I recall, the lens was capable of zero MOD.
ABC in the U.S. bought a few, but I was told that they sent most of their careers on the shelf at the Lodi, New Jersey OB shop. But that was from the Canon salesman. He also said that Mr Julius Barnathan bought them as a favor to Bernard Angenieux for expediting optics to ABC during the colour transition in the 1960s. I can believe the second statement, as Mr Barnathan was a very loyal person to vendors who helped him in difficult times. Even if you paid the ridiculous price, who would service the lens and are there any parts remaining..anywhere? |
