Motorola TS-95 chassis odd discovery - any ideas?

I was getting ready to work on this chassis when i noticed at the rear the tube line up from left to right is supposed to be 6SN7 , 6AL5 and 6BQ5 , the 5u4 on top of the transformer , i looked at my chassis and where the 6AL5 should be is a big tube , i thought is that another 6SN7 ? even if it was it wouldn't fit a 6AL5 socket , so i pulled it and it has dark sides with only a little on the top visable , it has odd numbers almost like a glass ballast tube , anyone know of any alterations like this ?
the tube chart , the service manual and the sams all show 6AL5 , if anyone knows what this is about please let us know , i can put up the numbers/letters on it when i have a chance to look at it again.

My Motorola literature agrees with yours. V17 is the 6BG6, V16 is the horiz osc 6SN7 and the 6AL5 (V15) is the horiz phase detector.
It could be possible, not very likely, the 6AL5 may have been replaced, socket and tube, with a 6H6. I have seen some weird 6H6G tubes.
On the tube in question, does it have two 100K ohm resistors connected to the socket?

i didn't have a chance to do anything with the set , perhaps thursday and i will post

It's a 6H6. I have a set with a TS-95 chassis that has 6H6 rather than 6AL5.

Thanks guys it is a 6H6 , after looking at the tube the numbers 6H6 can be found but the first 6 almost doesn't look like a 6 , so why this tube ? earlier version of the chassis ?

Took the chassis out and i find it odd that there is no safety glass or signs that there ever was one , i guess they figured since its a 16GP4 and only the face is glass and the cone metal there wasn't a lot of glass to be worried about.

The horiz out is a 6BQ6, osc 6SN7 and a 6H6 phase det.
I saw one that had a 6H6 Canadian Rogers spray shield GT type glass tube. It had a large orange "M" stamped on the base.
The claim was, there was a shortage of tubes and electronic parts for a while, during the Korean war. That's why you see a lot of foreign parts in some of the sets of the day, especially Admirals.

It originally had a safety glass or possibly a plastic one, that was either broken or damaged. It still needed implosion protection.

Yes it has a safety mask that is plastic , didn't notice till after i typed the post , it is part of the insulator around the rim of the crt , will be a pain to clean if theres dirt inside because you have to remove the strap holding the crt , pull it off and put it all back together but i guess thats part of restoring , cool thing is it already has the cut off at the top and bottom , no need to have the chassis in the cabinet to align the vertical.

I've seen german resistors in a andrea tv from that time period so that would also be part of the shortage too along with the sudden disappearance of focus coils and permanent magnets installed .
