This set rolled off the line.

I love finding exact dates inside old sets!

The tag on the bottom says 652, or the 52nd week of 1956, the 19th was in the 51st week so maybe there's a slight gap between when the cabinet was finished and when it officially rolled off the line, in any case this set did not wind up under anyone's Christmas tree that year.

This is a 14-S-7069, basically the same set as the 7070 series but without the always rotted leather handle.

I've been working on this the last couple weeks, it works great and has an excellent picture, transformer powered with a 5U4 rectifier, pretty upscale for a 14" portable.

Cool! It's interesting when ya find things like this. My '58 14" RCA set, I found out was actually built in late 1957. I don't remember the exact date that was stamped inside anymore, but I thought it was cool. I think I also found a stamped date in my 805? 1949 GE set.

I found hand-written dates on my '51 Zenith portholes, on the shelf beneath the chassis.
