They call this art: A version of Nam June Paik’s “Zen for TV.” Mr. Lui has helped preserve such artworks. Credit Dima Gavrysh for The New York Times

"A highlight for Mr. Finn was learning how to replicate Mr. Paik’s “Zen for TV.” The piece is deceptively simple: a TV turned on its side that displays no more than a vertical slice of silvery light in the center of the screen."

I'd say the vertical deflection needs to be fixed... Hope the CRT doesn't have a burn mark.

So now they will be cannibalizing more sets to keep this "Art" working, I say let it die.

The guy is 75 years old, let nature run its course and in a few years he won't be a problem :smoke:

He always picked the most desirable and rare sets too. Money is no object to him. It's so sad to see RCA 621's and something like this "Dualette" get ruined. Well, he's making the existing ones all the more rare!

His pieces sell for 5 and 6-figures, much more than our restorations do....to me, he's smarter than all of us if he can take a simple B/W TV and get thousands for it.....
