I'm judging form the arrangement of the tuning dial and the knobs the chassis is similar if not the same as my '54 model and yeah, it's pretty good.

Nice TV, I have one in my collection. Model 17TV7C.
Comes from Canada and now in the Netherlands.

Which is the exact same set I have. ;)

Typical hyped up weasel words - you won't have any of these problems "anywhere where reception is normal."

However, they must have been referring to something concrete with the "picture clarifier." I'm guessing it was gated AGC.

Back in the day, the Boss would occasionally explain tubes' functions to a customer. One such was the RF amplifier, which he called the "de-snower" tube.

I saw it on the forum, yours was in very bad condition, but very nicely restored.
I'm going to restore mine too, finish the Stewart Warner first.

The voice of Westinghouse in those days was Betty Furness. I remember seeing her on TV often in those days. One would always always associate her with Westinghouse.

She was famously associated with a faulty fridge door, but that was her fill-in that day. The clip is nonetheless hilarious and on youtube.

I don't know, but she sold me. Now I need a Westinghouse.

That's a great clip I'd never seen it before.

It’s a legend among early live TV bloopers.
