CBS Columbia tv shut off question

I always meant to take a video but never did, after running my 1950's tv ...when you shut it off after about 5 seconds the screen had what looked like lightning going random directions on the screen for what seemed to be a solid ten seconds or so. Not continuous but here and there. It was quite cool to watch and it needed to be very dark in the room to notice. Has anyone else had this happen?

It kinda looked like the lightning was behind the screen it was so subtle!

What kind of picture tube? Aluminized or not? Is the effect mainly near the edge of the screen? Is the dag coating on the outside of the tube good and solid or flaking?
Probably just a little static charge bleeding off. I seem to recall something similar on a color set I once had (but only very near the edge).

It was 21 inch aluminized screen. Not sure of exact number....if I remember correctly I had to spray an aquadag on it. The lighting did tend to start on the edge but did shoot all over.

Interesting, but I have no idea.
