100ns cap or analog delay substitute

I don’t know what a 100ns is but if anyone knows what could be a good substitute. It looks like a cap. I read it is a 100 nano second analog delay.

What device is it in, what does it look like, size?

The 100ns is small and looks like a ceramic cap and it’s in an old Sinclair mtv1 tv I don’t know what circuit it serves I don’t have a schematic.

A 100 ns delay line sounds like a very strange thing for an analog TV.

I suspect the part is a mislabeled or misread 100nf capacitor.

I have this schematic but it’s not to easy to find anything and there is another one in the deflection circuit and it’s marked 100ns also.

I don’t know but it is in there this one is in the area of the tuner possibly the uhf.

Is there a such thing as a substitute that may come close to delaying 100ns I’m not sure a 100nf would do it I think it would be a lot less then 100ns.

A capacitor and a delay line are very different things. My suspicion would be this is just a capacitor, but I can't guess from your description. What shape is it, a disc. a tube? Can you post a picture? To repeat, I can't think of a use for a 100 ns delay in an anlog TV.

This 100ns is broken in half and it’s like a 1/4 inch square.

It is not a delay line, it is a 100 nF cap... the “S” indicates the tolerance. I found this:

“Das sind 100nF Keramikkondensatoren von Siemens. Das "S" steht für die
Toleranz +50%/-20%.”

the way this was made the inside looks weird not exactly like a cap. Is that German? Well this tv was made I think in the uk with German parts so you may be right but I don’t understand German.
