I'm an Adapt-A-Dope

I didn't realize the terminal labeled "Frame" was not part of the ground or negative network on the wafer. It wasn't until I had major issues powering up my newest restoration and checked the caps for continuity on the A-A-C that I discovered this. The product doesn't come with any kind of documentation or description of how to hook things up. Has anyone else made this mistake or had any other issues using this product?

Thanks all
Chris

Correct - you insert a jumper to connect the cap negatives to the frame. Very handy option to have as often they do not connect to the chassis.

I've used about a hundred of them without issues.

So the corner holes surrounded by metal where you use screws and bolts to attach it to the frame are not connected to the negative circuit on the wafer? When you say "insert a jumper", do you mean a jumper between the AaC frame hole and the negative circuit on the AaC? I have checked continuity on these before and I believe the mounting holes are connected to the negative network on it.

The mounting holes are NOT connected to the negative side of the caps. This is by design. The original application for these was replacement for phenolic wafer mounted caps where the negative is NOT connected to the chassis.

Well...Jesus...there you go. I'm red/green color blind. Didn't even notice that. Can't read resistors or bumblebee caps either. I have to take pictures and show my wife.

I colored them red for this photo. They are just gold plated same as the others.

That’s funny. Adapt-A-Dope confirmed
