What does this magnavox selector switch control go to?
I assume that a motor on the end. As it set only turns manually one direction
It's also a push switch
There is an resistor assembly that goes all around it. It's the black band.

It appears to be a band switch style stepper relay. It's not from a tube era Concert Grand (I recently worked on one) but it could be from a solid state era concert grand (both were remote consoles). If it isn't from that, then a TV or TV combo with remote would be most plausible. No reason for a stepper if there isn't a remote.

Put my bet on a volume stepper for a remote set. see if it has a 4 digit date
code, looks mid 50's.

On the disk on back of relay/ motor
Has 7039 so if that's date code 1970
Attached pictures can't make out info
I tried 12 vdc to coil which is across the 150 ohm 2 watt
Resistor just clicks no movement of switch
I'm being on the safe side
Maybe it's an ac coil
Thanks

Didn't the Astro Sonic from this time period have a 3-step volume control on the lower end model? My T940 uses a motor for this but I do remember seeing something in the schematic

this turns 12 times one direction. I assume the motor/ stepper/solenoid stops it going backwards in no power applied mode. otherwise it has no stop. Till I know the proper power to this i wont know more.
Thanks
have a great week
Doug
