Anyone else here get copies of movies, etc that have thier recording tabs in??

I have several cassettes and VHS tapes with the tabs in... I usually leave it for PURITY sake.....

The speed (1994) tape I have is the official release but its got the tab and at the end of the movie you can see it say REW when usually you dont see anything after the blacx screen.... Looks like an internal release that wasnt meant to go public...

My Metallica cassette (First album) has the tabs in...... Its not from the USA

Just interesting getting them as there isnt many with the tabs still in!!!

I might have seen this once or twice, but I would have pulled the tab(s) out right away to prevent anyone from "bumping" the Record button by mistake.

Ya we talked about that on tapeheads..... We would hope that wouldnt happen......

Weird, I've never seen a prerecorded tape with the tab in place. Lucky?

Seems suspiciously like a bootleg to me.

Possibly. All of the duplicators I've seen are specific to the job and don't have provisions for record tab switches, they run at one high speed and record both sides at the same time and are completely automated.

Cheap VHS releasing companies would leave the recording tabs in sometimes, it was more typical of tapes duplicated in EP for some reason. Those companies included Starmaker, Goodtimes Home Video, and a few others...
