LG 65SJ850A does not respond to remote control
 

My LG 65SJ850A TV no longer will power on or operate with its remote control. I can get the TV to turn on using the physical power button and all other controls work that way. Wi-fi and the App works to control the TV also. But the infrared powering on/off, etc. as well as the bluetooth "magic" cursor has stopped working. The remote is fine. It has new batteries, and it works my other LG TV's perfectly. I reset the TV to factory defaults and it won't pair with the remote - I had to skip that part just to get the TV to work again.

Has anyone had this issue? what part is usually the culprit? I don't want to throw money at this replacing parts which may not be the cause.

I hope it can be only the infrared sensor (have indeed a chance to be it).

I ordered a replacement button which has the IR sensor on it. We'll see if this fixes the issue. Nothing else has worked.
