RCA Selectavision VCR Model VKT-300 Issues
Hello, I just acquired an early to mid 1980s RCA Selectavision VHS VCR Model VKT-300 that when I got it home and tried it out it wouldn't load or play a tape, I figured out it was some bad belts and a bad idler tire, I replaced those and now the VCR plays as it should, but when I hooked the unit up to the TV all I get video wise is a bouncy, distorted picture thar alternates between black and white and color and no audio and the tracking control has no effect on the video. I cleaned the heads thinking that would help, but still no dice. Is this VCR known to have some issues with bad capacitors on the Video and audio processing boards? I'm asking because this issue I'm having with this VCR's video and audio output during tape playback is very similar to the issue I had with my old Panasonic PV-1750 before I replaced some of the capacitors on the video and audio processing boards. Also what would of been the exact year of manufacture for this particular VCR, it looks big enough to of been from the early 1980s like between 1981-1983 or so, but it actually has an infared wireless remote control sensor on it, (besides a wired remote control plugin) which would make me think mid 1980s like 1984-1986, but I'm not sure.
Thanks for your help. |
