While it's not like new,I do like it and look forward to finding another old radio! Without AK this thing would still be collecting dust!

That's a fine looking little radio! Are those a couple of SW bands I espy?
I like SWL (especially on long, cold, dark, dreary MA winter nights)

:) Thx guys, getting it to look good was easy since it was in good shape to begin with,I replaced the yellowed plastic with some clear, did some cleaning, got some dark stain and hit the chipped spots, then some lacquer sanding sealer and gloss. The hard part was getting it to work,AK's Charlie got it up and running for me,but the next one I'm gonna do it myself (try to anyway) I can't help but look on ebay for a radio to fix up.

Donny 03-05-2005 03:30 PM

I'll have to get back to you on how it sounds,I've been to busy showing it off. But it sounds as good as a news station can sound I guess, lol I need a rock station!

Sandy G 03-05-2005 03:56 PM

Hey man, you got yrself something to be VERY proud of- a radio that's likely older than yr parents, brought back from oblivion !! Be somethin' nice to give to yr grandchild someday...<grin>-Sandy G.

Lookin good there, Donny! Glad I was able to help ya. I think that radio will work well for a long time to come. Sounds like you're hooked, now! :D

Donny,

Here's a Philco damn near like yours... only this one doesn't have the electronic presets.

I know! It was affordable too but I'm waiting for one off the bay now and possible 2 radios at the local fleemarket :)
