Ever seen a Delmonico (JVC) 21" roundie ???

In the early 80s, I saw a couple of large console JVC Delmonico-Nivico 21" round tube sets on a TV salvage truck... I only ever saw those few, and didn't look too closely because they were just old junk at the time. Now curiosity is killing me. I wonder if that was a Japanese chassis, and what CRT? Those TVs may have been combos. I recall a long console with speakers at both ends.

I have worked on a variety of old Japanese color sets with 14" and 17" rectangular tubes with the big neck and same gun as 21FJP22. Toshiba and Sharp. Those were totally Japanese design chasses.

Here's an 1962-1964 "Victor (J.V.C.)" whic I think is equyped with an 21" "R.C.A." picture tube (round, of corse). I took that pic. The set can be find in Bucharest, Romania, Eastern-Europe.

There are also some old posts by a member from Japan who hasn't been active here for some time. I think the ones he showed are also based around an RCA crt; I seem to recall one that had an American looking chassis, was it vertical like a -10/11?

I find the notion of a big neck rectangular tube nearly as intriguing as a Japanese roundie. Would be neat to have one today.

I wonder what the story was on Delmonico? I had a German Korting radio branded Delmonico. Perhaps they were an importer not always tied with JVC?
