Fabulous Zenith remote goes in 2 days

item# 6271540431
I just wish it were closer.

Dumb question: If it's working so well, why does he have the smaller set on top running instead?
I just wish it were cheaper. Maybe he will re-list it for less $$$ if no one bids on it.

That's a really nice set - I wish I were closer. I tried punching my zip code into the freight calculator, but it says that no carriers were found - so even if I wanted to ship it, it doesn't look like it's going to happen easily. Why is it I can never find sets around my neck of the woods? I really want to find a console like this - my roundie is that monsterous Magnavox combo, I wanna find a small, normal sized console. But closer.

:(

I could be wrong but I got a feeling this set is a really great find.
I guess we should get the seller to post a photo of it working.
If nobody bids I bet he lowers price. I won't be bidding because I can't go get it.

Could you post a link to the ebay page when you find an item, makes it easier to check it out! :D

Smoker,
How far away do you live from here? I agree this grand ol' Zenith deserves a reprieve from the landfill, but I need to keep focused on my long-delayed RCA, and I promised my new lady I wouldn't acquire any more sets. Actually, thinning the herd is more like it. I don't know anything about the other TV folk in the Seattle-Tacoma-Portland area on this site, but I'd be willing to stash it in my storage unit for a while until a reasonable shipping option is found...

I tried getting pictures from the seller, but he didn't want to send me any. Said it was too much trouble. The freight calculator was working for me. To so-cal it would be around 600+ dollars to ship that 200 pound beast.

Might be worth it to someone locally to pick it up. Looks to be a space command 600 set.

Well I see someone got it...glad it won't be going to a landfill

This is the exact same TV that was in craigslist back in january. I spotted it in the chicago craigslist (assumed he was in chicago) and offered to buy it. The guy said he would let it go cheap. After everything was said and done, he then tells me he wants $350 for it and that I can pick it up in seattle!
That pretty much blew me out of the water. I asked in 3 different emails where he lived IN CHICAGO and he never answered that question. If I knew right off the bat where he lived, I would have stopped asking questions.

Well, this is some usefull information I did get on the set from back in january:

Model 5231U
Chassis 25MC30

This is not a space command set, standard tuning.

I was also told it worked perfect, but he would never send me a picture of the set working..........Ive bought so called perfect working TV's before. When I go to pick them up "it worked perfect about 5 years ago". That being said, the TV's dont work without alot of time spent on bringing them back to life.

I always find it odd when a set is listed as working great and there is no pic of it working. To me working great with good color etc.. means there is nothing wrong with it at all. Working great can mean different things to two different people.

I would always post a picture just to show at the least that the set operates. That way a buyer would know the major systems ,Fly, power transformer etc should be good.

It seems the tv is on the way for Italy. I'd love to know how much does it cost to ship such a heavy thing from U.s.a to here in Italy...
It's a shame I'm not the guy waiting for the zenith...
