Glass on picture tube broken...
 
please see picture...do I have to get a whole new picture tube or could this be fixed..or work without the glass?

New tube is needed..

All the vacuum surely has leaked out. You'll need to install a new tube.

Seeing something like that really is sad, isn't it? There is no such thing as a "little" leak when it comes to vacuum tubes!
