I found this set in an antique mall in Louisville, Ky. We saw a sign for (the mall) and like to have never found the place and I remember saying that if in one more mile I don't find this place, we are going back. (glad it came up in that mile!) It was all the usual stuff but in the back, one seller had the whole backroom with lots of neat stuff. (now gone) My wife said there are some TV's and all looked better than what you usually find. When I walked back behind them, I looked down and said oh my gosh! Those 15G's are unmistakeable! Rest is history. CRT is actually very good.
What I also have in my collection is the 1954 dealer salesbook that covers this set! Of all the items in it, there is only one page (cut sheet) that touts it. You would have thought they would have made a bigger splash promoting this set. There are only two of these found so far and the other is in Texas. Mine is the better of the two. Dave Johnson put me in touch with the other and we compared notes such as serial numbers etc. Other than being the same model number, they have differences such as how the serial number is affixed. I believe these were hand built in very small batches. Perhaps 20 or so and likely 2 or 3 batches. It has often been said usually about 10% or less of anything survives so if only two are known-I'm fairly sure that less than 50 were built. None of the 15" sets of any brand were ever good sellers.
