Well, I got the set :P

The seller was one of those buy everything in sight and ebay it businesses. 3rd floor of an old textile mill. No elevator. And what a dick the guy was. More so than a typical NJer

So, after managing to get the thing downstairs, I decide to pop the back off.

Yippie! I know Halicrafters has that nickname "Halicrapers". Well, let's just say this thing's no Dumont. But then, it's at least semi decently built. I can't tell if it's hot chassis or not, though it's got a voltage doubler PS. I'm not to optimistic, every control is insulated. But the power tranny, though small, looks big enough to have more than just a 6V winding in it...

It's got a 21MP4 in it, too.

Well, bringing it home, I pulled the chassis and looked it over. Dirty, but tha'ts ok. Checked it (it had a raster), 7kv on the CRT. And no sound/snow and non filling sweep. But it's alive!

Some 'repairman' tried to 'fix' some HV stuff. And, the HV box is conviently located under the chassis. There's an aligator clip at the end of the flyback's lead to the 1B3. Fairly new one, too...

3 IF stages. I didn't see if it had DC resto. Well, hopefully it'll be better than the GE I have, but the Bendix? It's still king of the hill in my house, likely.

That said, the set has some redeeming value. It's somewhat functioning. The cabinet's pretty decent (but tacky). It's got a funky looking CRT. It doesn't have circuit boards. It's a bit interesting. The CRT was pretty bright at 7kv.

Well, I'm gonna take the chassis upstairs and see what I'm gonna do with it. I'll get a chassis number - anyone got any hali photofacts?
