I'm not firing it up until I recap it - I just wanted the new tube in the set and out of the way.
Since the nearest electrical supply is a good 45 minutes through traffic, I think I'm just going to put the old tape under the bracket. The adhesive is gone but it came off in one piece. But I will pick up some cambric tape next time I go out that way for future swaps.
