Sams #139 shows these as available tubes for the open-face console with 242 chassis:

16AP4

Knowing that Kaye-Halbert was a semi-custom factory, you could also order alterations. I've seen a few with 27" tube, and heard of one with a 24" round tube (shown in the 1951-52 brochure, but not in the Sams for the same sets).

I have the factory engineering and service manuals on that set, so when I get back to LA, I'll look into it if this thread is still hot.


A note of interest: The Kaye-Halbert Cambridge in my avatar (left) has a 21" tube installed where a 20CP4 was originally. That set is a '52 with a 253 chassis (non-DX version).
