That is funny about the color, but P-4 phosphor is actually a mix of a "yellow" phosphor which peaks at about 550 nanometers and a "blue" phosphor which peaks at about 450 nanometers... it appears that the blue "ages" faster than the yellow under years of electron bombardment.
