The picture is "watchable" as-is and I'm sure it could look much better. I'm concerned these old pots could be crunchy and turning them too much may only cause more problems. I suppose I should find a Sams photofact for the set and go thru the setup step by step, I may only have one shot at it if the pots are in poor condition. I do notice the picture is slightly out of focus when the set is turned on, Focus improves after a minute or so.

Much better. Perform a static convergence at the center of the picture, (as that is where the bulk of the watching takes place) then work on the top, bottom, left and right. Adjust your contrast, focus, and brightness so the dots will be more pronounced and easier on the eyes while adjusting. The right side of the picture is normally the hardest to converge (they are controlled by the coils and not the pots).
