More progress to report.
I'm now 100% done recapping the chassis, and it was a daunting task to say the least. This chassis is only 1 generational step behind my CTC-9 (in fact the similarities are unmistakable), but because it uses wax caps throughout, it multiplied my work x10. On the '9 I only had to replace the power supply caps and a few random ones that didn't test too well, where on the '7 I had to replace literally everything. It was a PITA, but I think it will have been worth it.
In preparation for a test run tomorrow, I installed the 21CYP22 from the CTC-9 into the 7's cabinet. I figured I'd use a good one, since the one that came out of the '7 was a weak testing rebuild from 1966. I tried to bring it back with Mark's Sencore, but it's obviously got a lot of hours on it. It would work well with a brightener though, emission really perks up at 8 volts filament supply.
So right now the plan is to get the chassis installed, install the yoke, convergence assy, blue lat mag, hook everything up, then fire it up after work tomorrow. Anticipation for the first run is growing!
