There are one, maybe two dial lamps. To set the preset stations, if you look through the back of the set at that control panel you'll see (or feel) a small lever (up top I think) that will slide to one side. That will unlock the panel from the cabinet; you'll be able to work it out the front and set the tuning slugs behind each button.
Be careful of rubber coated wire that is cracking. My '42 Zenith is full of it. If you see any of that try not to disturb it any more than you have to.
