Greetings

Hello,

This board is interesting. Hope to stick around a while and trade information here and have some fun. Video is always interesting and I prefer the older analog and tube stuff for the hobby. CRTs rule supreme!

For pro I was a service engineer with Sony B&P for 5 years and worked on analog HD direct view and projection displays, digital switchers, installed EVO duplication systems, and that sort of thing. Used to do a little field work for them on special items like the dye sublimation printers and videoconferencing systems. Spent a week rebuilding almost 100 of the little printers at Sandusky Park one fall. Owned a Betacart for a while. Dragged a broken one home and fixed it. Learned that robots can move very fast and they hurt if they clobber you. Now I do application lab and field work for a semiconductor company.

I'd rather fiddle with an old monochrome tube monitor though. Conrac. and some ham radio stuff, not so much interest in the plastic radios, I like the metal stuff and the full size AM gear.

Looking forward to some good times, to contribute as well as to reap some of the rewards of eventually becoming a part of this large and august group.
