I usually cut the scrap board to remove the terminal and straighten the folded over crimped tabs and insert them.

I thought about trying that, but in my case, the phenolic got damaged as well. It's generally intact, but the immediate area around where the terminals were inserted broke out, so now I just have two round-ish holes in the board that would have a hard time supporting new terminals.
