Tom, thanks. That exactly and directly answered my question. I have not attempted to remove the safety glass yet and always thought that they were some kind of polycarbonate.
I have read many threads here and on ARF about the removal of the cataract. I have plenty of those spring loaded clothes pins. Not because I hang out laundry; rather to keep bags of chips closed in the cupboard!
