Then to look at the voltage of the phase det pin 1 with a volt meter through a 47k resistor, this is as to not load it down, if no reading, oscillator is not running, adjust A18 to start, then adjust A17 for max reading.

Do NOT skip that step.
If you see a reading at pin 1 V22 through a 47k with pin 2 of burst amp V21 shorted to ground as the procedure says to do, move on to adjust A17 for max reading.

Then go to next step.

What would max reading be because I did use the 47k resistor and It was alittle over 5 volts. Adjust A17 for max voltage?sams says max deflection?
