This is a really neat project! I have a 5" Sony Watchman that I would love to convert into a raster/vector monitor.
The only other thing I've seen like it is Eric Schlaepfer's CRT driver board (tubetime.us) but that's for electrostatic deflection tubes.
No comment on your sense of humor though... hah
