Ronson lighter fluid contains Naphtha. Apparently this is good for cleaning rubber. I usually use alcohol or acetone for belts. Dampen a paper towel and pull it through until the black 'oxide' stops coming off. This usually yields a belt with far greater grip on the pulleys. Of course if the belt is shot, it probably won't do anything to help. I'll have to get some Ronson the next time I'm out and about. Thanks for the tip!
