This statement makes no sense.
If you can read a resistance, there is continuity.
Where are you connecting your ohmmeter? One lead is connected to a wire, obviously, but where is the other lead connected?
Make a table with three columns.
Column A: first meter lead connection
Column B: second meter lead connection
Column C: resistance reading
