Hi, guys (and gals)... I'm restoring a Sony AV-3650 EIAJ-1 half-inch open-reel VTR. Built like a tank, rubber components are like the day they were made, and I have another machine as a parts source. But I' m worried about the AC motor (this is an "editing" machine that adds a capstan DC motor). After some minutes running, the AC motor gets hot, maybe around 120-140 F, and so stays. I have tried a second motor, and also changed the AC electrolytic condenser, with the same results. Maybe this temperature rise is normal, but I would like to know what is your experience.
