To bigadow’d comment, today’s color chain far exceeds what you would have seen on this set in 1956.
Here is a monochrome shot for what it’s worth from a black and white broadcast this morning with natural light in the room. Last night I found even dim light in the room warmed up a monochrome shot.
As you can see my gray scale is not perfect with a bit of color apparent.
