Capacitor Appearance Fooled Me

Working on a Hitachi '83 CT13Y6 TV to use with a Magnavox Odyssey 2 and Atari 2600. The TV seems to be working okay, haven't tested the tube yet, so I don't know if it is a high hour set or not. Still, I was looking over the electrolytics and I saw what I believe to be a filter cap as it's right next to the flyback and it is domed at the top. I ordered replacement for that and any others in the general area. I got the caps yesterday and just took out the cap in the attached pics. It is domed, but not the cap itself. Seems there is a plastic top to it and it is domed. I tested it and it tested as 410 with ESR around 33 mOHM. The new one measures at 426 with ESR around 22 mOHM. What I want to know is if the original one is best put back in or should the new one go in? You can see in the pics the original is beefier and the leads are attached with a rivet of sorts. The smaller cap next to it also tested good.

I don't have the SM yet, but maybe someone can answer how convergence is set on it. It doesn't have any convergence controls. It is a bit off in certain areas. Can live with it, but why no way of touching it up? How did the factory do it?
